CAPTIVE BREEDING

The primary objective of the CrocBank’s conservation program involves captive breeding of endangered species for translocation to various state forest departments and cross border countries for their head starting, restocking and captive breeding initiatives; besides supply to zoos, both within the country and outside, to discourage taking reptiles from the wild.

Captive breeding of crocodilians, freshwater turtles and tortoises, water monitors and king cobras have met with great success in the Bank
