PROGRAMMES & ACTIVITIES OFFERED BY CROC BANK

Croc Bank offers specific programs for students depending on the requirements and level of environmental studies. Schools can plan field trips and organize environment focused activities from any of the programs listed below. College students can choose to do their environment science field study projects at the Croc Bank.

1. Nature Camps- Day camps and overnight camps for schools and student groups throughout the year. On day camps- a day at the Croc Bank for an intensive session on reptiles, their natural history and roles in the ecosystem. Students will be provided with literature, activity kits and booklets. Certificates of participation are awarded at the end of camps. Students also get to watch puppet shows and use the puppets to conduct their own performances in the puppet theatre. 2. Crocs in the Campus- Croc Bank staff will arrive at your door step with baby crocodiles, turtles, tortoises, a python, iguana and conduct an in depth program about reptiles. The show and tell program is conducted in schools, colleges and institutions. It offers all a unique opportunity to view these animals at close quarters. Note: All staff are trained to handle reptiles safely. Schedule for EE programs in schools

3. Environment Education programs in schools- Croc Bank has designed several environment education modules for primary and high school students. Each session will be conducted through activities and games to make it easy for the students to undrerstand the concepts that is being put across.

4. Field work for undergraduate students- A basic course in Environmental Studies has been made mandatory at the undergraduate level. Under this, in addition to the theoretical aspects, every student is required to undertake field work on topics prescribed under the curriculum. The Croc Bank with its expertise can serve as an agency for conducting field work on certain specific topics for a limited number of students. Colleges and institutions interested may send students for any of the listed topics and are requested to contact us well in advance by phone and email. Projects & field studies offered

Note: The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust is a non- profit organization. All charges will be at cost plus the institutional fees which is the norm. All monies generated from EE programs are ploughed back for EE activities for government schools along the ECR where students are not privileged to such programs nor have resources.

Donations towards the environment education can be made to Madras Crocodile Bank Trust. Donations are tax exempted under 80G and this will be provided.
