PUBLICATIONS

Over the years CrocBank researchers have produced more than 300 publications on herpetology, human ecology, biodiversity and sociology. These include new species descriptions, distribution and locality changes, unrecorded behavioral observations and conservation/management recommendations. These papers have been published in leading journals, magazines and newsletters from all over the world. Articles have been published in English and state languages. The over twenty books written by associates of the CrocBank include a field guide to the snakes of India, a field guides to the turtles and tortoises, and several books for children on snakes, lizards and turtles. In addition, handouts on sea turtle conservation were produced both in english and tamil for distribution and awareness along the east coast road. List of publications



LIBRARY

Currently CrocBank has the largest herpetological collection in India, started in a very modest way by Harry Andrews; through acquisition of books, journals, newsletters and reprints, through exchanges, correspondence and networking, has resulted in 1000s of books, reprints and newsletters. This library is current and upto date with publications from India and abroad and is used by students (schools and colleges), university staff and researchers from within India and overseas. Information on new herpetological books and current literature is circulated via the CrocBank newsletter Herpinstance and book reviews are regularly published in Hamadryad . The library also has a small section with books, reprints, reports and other publications on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands , besides a general section with other books, newsletters, directories, video tapes and photos. Today the library has over 1500 books and 120 different types of journals/newsletters/magazines/bulletins.
